On Monday, September 25th, the grades 9 to 12 students participated in a special presentation by MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers) on the risks of driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
The 2017-2018 School Assembly Program, The Pact, is the story of Zoe who is struggling to fit in and make friends at her new school. She accepts a ride home from a friend who hasn’t been drinking but is under the influence of drugs. The car ends up crashing, changing their lives forever and leading to a special pact between the friends. The pact is a promise to keep each other safe. Promising to never drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol, to do their best to keep others from potentially dangerous situations and to find a safe alternative by planning ahead.
The presentation was an insightful and memorable experience for the students.
