High School Play

HS play cropped

Recently Town Centre Private High School (TCPHS) delighted a full house with their third annual high school play, a female version of Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple.

Originally written in 1965 with male protagonists in mind, The Odd Couple captures the essence of a dysfunctional friendship.

The incredible cast of performers: Leeya Wilson, Shajena Sivakumaren, Andrew Meehan, Tanuj Kumar, Alexiah Edwards, Kelly Low, Vanna Nguyen and Michelle Wang are to be commended for their outstanding performances. This was truly a moment of pride and a crowning achievement for the school as the entire cast of high school students started several years ago in the TCMPS pre-school and elementary programs. Bravo to the cast, crew, volunteers and directors.  We can’t wait to see what’s next!

Advanced Program and Exams

Math cropped April enewsWhat is the AP program? It is an internationally recognized course of study currently being taught around the world. In Ontario alone, more than 180 schools offer this program. Students who enrol in the AP program can earn university credits while they are attending high school, improve their chances of university acceptance, particularly into more competitive programs, increase their scholarship opportunities, and earn international academic recognition.

Our Advanced Placement (AP) Scholars will write their exams starting May 6th with 60 Town Centre Private High School students writing 108 exams. These exams, written by thousands of top students worldwide, will enable our senior students to earn university credits while still in high school. Final results of these exams will not be made available until early July; we wish our candidates all the best.

April Trips

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

April is an incredibly busy time for the high school and field trips have taken the students on a myriad of adventures.

Our Canadian History and Visual Arts classes took in Canadian art, including the Group of Seven, at the Art Gallery of Ontario.  They were also fortunate enough to view the temporary Early Renaissance exhibit.

The World Religion class explored the wide range of religious institutions in the Greater Toronto Area, visiting Saint Michael’s Cathedral as well as beautiful Sikh and Hindu temples.

Our Law students visited the Ontario Provincial Court buildings in order to see justice in action.

Drama and English as a Second Language students attended a matinee performance of “The Wizard of Oz” at the Ed Mirvish Theatre in downtown Toronto.

These trips have been organized to enhance the school curriculum and extend the learning process beyond the classroom.
