For the 12th consecutive year the high school students and staff at Town Centre Private Schools has embraced Terry’s dream to find a cure for cancer. In the days leading up to the annual Terry Fox Run thefocus was on fund raising and awareness of Terry Fox, his courage and determination in his attempt to run across Canada.
On a sunny Tuesday morning, the high school student body and staff, dressed in their House League colours, headed to Highgate Park to run, jog or walk in support of the Terry Fox Foundation.
This year’s Terry Fox initiative went very well. Led by our STRIVE committee, students were challenged to raise more money than their peers. The students who raised the highest amounts were given the opportunity to soak a teacher or fellow student with a bucket of cold water at the conclusion of the Run.
Thank you to all students and staff who helped make this event such a success. A special thank you to Tiffany L., Anabela C., Abhishek S, Janine L. and Dean of Student Life and teacher Mr. Fisher, who were drenched for this good cause, to the delight of the high school students.
Terry Fox’s memory and legacy continues to grow through student involvement and generous financial contributions, all while fostering our school spirit and our commitment to “give back” to our community and support this worthy cause. Since 2006, TCPS has collectively raised an amazing grand total of $179,930.00 for the Terry Fox Foundation!
